First: I am an American citizen. What that means to me is that I have the right and duty to vote and to have an influence on our leadership. I have a responsibility to be informed as best I can by making an effort to do so and not just taking what we hear in the media as absolute and on blind faith. I feel it is our job as electors to question the actions of those we put in office because they work for us. But, on the flip side we should have some faith in the decisions they make because what we put them in office to do.
Second: I am a Father. As a father, I have concerns about the opportunities that are there for my children and their generation as a whole. Like all Americans I have a vested interest in the Education system, Healthcare, Economy, Environment, Etc. This is not just because I have children. Though this does mean that as a father I have another point of view and responsibility to them.
Third: I am a Husband. As a husband I have a duty to do what I can to provide for my wife. This means I have an interest in our Retirement, Healthcare, Safety and Security from our streets to our borders. Like all American I want to live my days with some feeling that my family is safe. I also what to know that the future of my families well being is within my control.
Forth: I am a Veteran. As a Veteran I understand the purpose of our military. I feel for the families that are losing their loved ones and I can’t imagine because I myself have not experienced that loss. I am concerned with the level of treatment our soldiers receive, the supplies, and how thin our resources are.
Fifth: I am a Truck driver. as a truck driver I have the opportunity to talk to allot of people from many different areas and walks of life. I know and understand as an employee the affect things have taken on all aspects of life from the cost of fuel to the loss of jobs and all things in between. I also know that it is easy to point the finger and direct blame. This will not fix our problems. We as Americans have to take control by starting with ourselves. This means taking responsibility for our part in this large problem. We need to change our spending habits. Like for instance the things that we consider needs that are truly luxuries (Most of which are made overseas and support other economies not ours). I also acknowledge that I am one of millions of Americans that need to do this.
